Installation Information
It is recommended it be installed on software from Windows 7 onwards. It is compatible with Mac OS from versions 10.10 onwards, Linux Ubuntu client (latest version) and Raspberry on Raspbian.
Plotters are generally not supported by MPS because they do not display enough information on the SNMP protocol to be detected correctly (serial and toner levels), but there are special cases where you can detect data and this should be evaluated, model by model.
Yes, the software is programmed with redundancy functions. This means that by installing the DCA on more than one client’s PC on the same network, it will normally work using only one main PC but, when, for any reason, the agent should freeze (or the PC replaced or reformatted) the software loaded on the other PCs will take over (one at a time).
Yes, it is possible for each customer to have multiple DCA technologies installed. For example, on each customer one Windows version, one for Mac OS and one Futuresmart for printer can be installed. This can prevent the monitoring from being interrupted should one of the software versions stop working for some reason.
It is advisable to install more DCAs when dealing with laptops or PCs with known operation problems. The advantage is that by enabling the autofix on the customer with more DCAs, interruptions can be avoided and therefore printer blocks avoided should the toner run out.
The cluster is a function that allows you to continuously monitor the devices of a customer who has made installations on multiple PCs. It is activated when the default (main) eXplorer configuration stops working. In this case, the cluster allows the configuration to be transferred to the other installation performed.
